Decision, decisions

Well, I think I'm going to continue posting, although you might notice a few differences between how I was posting & how I will continue. Most notably, you won't see all the grocery store deals here on this site, but you will get a link to a direct webpage with all the info.
I have realized through your numerous & kind emails that there are quite a few of you out there counting on these deals. As I compile them for myself, it actually bothers me that I am not sharing them with you.
Let me know if you have any comments :)

Grocery/Drug store updates

I realize through many of your comments that you guys have been using the deals I post a lot more than I thought. I do not mean to leave you high & dry without deals, so I am going to continue to pray about continuing the blog. In the mean time, here is an udpate on information about grocery/drugstores posts, as these are the big problem I ran into with posting.

There are groups of bloggers who specifically match up coupons to sales & want you to visit their site so that they get web traffic and revenue for their efforts. Although some of the bloggers responding to me were upset with my citations, (and if I continue blogging, I will discontinue posting deals and links to them due to their attack), a few others just pointed out another way to post the deals and that many of them had done the same thing when they first started blogging the deals.

That said, there are a few bloggers who are searchable through Becentsable: Grocery Gathering. You can click on your state & then the store you are hoping to shop at to get that week's deals (deals are usually posted a day or so after the new ad).

If I decide to continue blogging, I will forward you the link to their post each week so that you can go there & print off your shopping lists. (as opposed to listing that store's entire deals)

In the mean time, here is the Becentsable website.

Did I lie?

Ok, so I am here posting again.

Truth be told, this deal was found completely by my personal sister-in-law, so I feel at complete liberty to share it!!

If you are a Southern California Edison customer, bring a bill or statement & up to 10 lamps to one of their free events (THIS Saturday-Sunday, 3/27-2/38 in Victorville, CA) to get up to 10 NEW lamps free!!

Basically, you can swap out any used, working condition lamp to get a new one that runs on less electricity! So yay for new stuff & yay for it being good for the earth & pocketbook.

Details available here.

I'm also debating using this blog still. I'll keep you posted. I'm trying to pray about it :)

Early blogging retirement ***LAST POST***

So, after a whirlwind of emails and confusion today, I am discontinuing my blog and will no longer be posting anymore bargains. Lame that I spent all of two nights ago re-doing my blog! :(

In general, I started this blog because I wanted to quickly share with my friends the deals that I received from others that were pertinent to my friends/family/area. However, this whole thing is more complicated than it should be, so I am stopping.

If you want to know the details of why, please email me as I would LOVE to tell you, but feel that what is said here in the public blogosphere might be taken incorrectly by some parties.

If you are super sad and still want me to send you out some bargains I get via email, email me and I'll see what I can do. :)

I do have a list of great frugal blogs I recommend, although none of them are specifically in my area so you will have to sort through deals that don't pertain to you most likely. If you want those blog names so you can subscribe, please email me!

Thanks for reading. Hope this information helped you save some money and time.

Ok, so sorry for the delay (uh... 3 months) on posting about Swagbucks, but it keeps escaping my mind to blog about it. I thought of it again yesterday while sipping my Frappuccino. You'll see why...

Swagbucks is a fantastic little company that you do your internet searches through (ie. google). Instead of going to google.com, I go to swagbucks.com (or use the handy toolbar that I downloaded at the top of my browser) & I search for things just like I would use google. Only instead of just getting my search results, I could win (they are randomly awarded) swagbucks!!

I have been earning swagbucks since around Christmas, and just by doing my regular searches through their search engine, I've received $30 in starbucks gift certificates!! (real plastic ones that sit in my hand even). You can use your swagbucks to get lots of stuff, from gift certificates to Starbucks, amazon, and major retailers, to products and sweepstakes. It is just a generally amazing & fun way to search for whatever you search for and get free stuff while you are at it.

Did I tell you it was free?

Did I tell you to use this link & sign up & start winning? You get a bonus for signing up :)

Do it! You won't regret it (unless you like me use your swagbucks to buy starbucks & gain a few pounds! -- well worth it!)

Has anyone else spotted a great Target deal lately? Let us all know!

My Frugal Adventures has the scoop on Walgreens this week. She thinks it isn't too good of a week so I will just post her beginner's scenarios without editing. She also has a link to the list of deals she sees at the bottom. I'll edit this & send out any new info if anyone scopes out a great bargain!

"Here is the Walgreens for Beginners idea for this week. To be honest this week is really a stinker so you might spend your time at Target instead!

Colgate Total Toothpaste $3.99
Use $1/1 from 3/7 SS
Final Price: $2.99 and you will get a $3.99 Register Reward back!

This is a $1 moneymaker after coupon. Remember you can not use the $3.99 Register Reward to buy another toothpaste or your second Register Reward won’t print.

If you are interested in rolling the Register Reward- I think this is another good deal:

Buy 2 Special K Protein Shakes packs $4.50
Use (2) $1/1 coupons HERE
Use $3.99 Register Reward from the Colgate above
Buy small filler- Scotch mailers are .33 this week with in ad coupon*
Final Price: $3.34 and get a $3 Register Reward back

So your total spent would be $6.33 for Colgate, mailer plus 2 Special K shakes AND you will have $3 in Register Rewards for next time.

*Since you only have 2 items and you have a coupon for each item, if you want to use the Register Reward you need to purchase a small item that serves as a “filler” so your coupon to item ration is the same. Purchase anything you like in the store that you do not have a coupon for. The Scotch mailer is just a suggestion.

See this week’s deals right HERE.

Check out the Walgreens 101 series HERE.

Be sure to check out My Frugal Adventures for all the latest deals!"

If you happen to get this today (via facebook or random blog searching), Victoria's secret has a free shipping code today with NO MINIMUM purchase :) Just enter SHIPFREE at checkout. You can also use the code 25PANTS with it to get 25% off of most pants (and the free shipping too!)

I have been eying the linen beach pant for about a month now & waiting for the right time to buy them. I purchased the same from VS 3 years ago and completely wore out the fibers wearing them almost daily during 3 summers. I love these pants!

Anyway... they were $40 3 years ago & you can see my super purchase from today below. Oh, did I mention that any purchase today gets you a secret rewards card worth at least $10 in April, but possibly $1000?! Yay for deals on things you already want.

Glen Ivy deal

It's been a while (before baby #1 maybe) since I've been here, but this is an awesome spa! Find a friend to go with you and head out to Glen Ivy Day Spa in Corona on a Tuesday or Thursday this month and you’ll get in for half price! Through the month of March they are offering “Buy 1 Get 1″ admission into their spa in Corona. You don’t even have to get a massage to enjoy your day – but that might make it even better! You can get all the info HERE.

Also, you can get in on Wednesdays for $18.60 all month long! That info is HERE as well!

Thanks, The Mommy Trade
